According the hotel owners, Delhi is yet not prepared for 2010 Commonwealth Games, as there is an acute shortage of accommodation in the city. Hotel and restaurant industry representatives complained that no work has been done in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2010, and there is a need of a single window clearance system to address issues of accommodation, transportation and trained guides.
Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) vice-president Rajindera Kumar strongly complained that “nothing has been done” in reference to the preparation for the Games. He further added that there is a requirement of 6,000 additional rooms in time for the Games but nothing has been done in this regard. He said, ‘‘we will all end up in tents since there won’t be enough rooms in the city.’’
