25% of work on 1168 flats for players complete 6% of work on practice and fitness venue done

Quarter of flats ready The 1,168 plush top-end flats being developed at the Games Village site near Akshardham temple for the 8,000-odd players and officials are 25% ready, claims DDA. Meanwhile, Emaar-MGF, the developer has begun booking of its share of flats. Of the 1,168 flats one-third is DDA’s share.
As far as the other permanent facilities at the Games Village go, DDA has allotted work for the swimming pool, athletics track, indoor hall for wrestling, weightlifting and the fitness centre. Digging is on and DDA says that about 6% work has happened here. The completion deadline stands at May 2010.
The international zone, dining hall, transportation mall and operations area are temporary structures. Work from tendering to allotment and completion will be executed between January 2009 and May 2010.
