2010 CWG Headquarters Inaugurated

The headquarters of the Organizing Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi (OC CWG Delhi 2010) were formally inaugurated by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports MS Gill here on Monday.

OC CWG Delhi 2010 has recently shifted its headquarters from the Indian Olympic Bhavan in the Qutab Institutional Area to the New Delhi City Centre (NDCC)-II, opposite Jantar Mantar. The Minister visited all the major functional areas where he met the staff members and later also saw the presentations made by all Functional Area Heads of OC CWG Delhi 2010.

Gill expressed his satisfaction over the preparations and said organizing the XIX Commonwealth Games is one of the top most priorities of the government. The office is equipped with advanced communication technology and supports mobility to ensure smooth functioning.

The telecommunication infrastructure in place is completely scalable to deal with the requirements during the Games. The Technology Operations Centre, which will function from the building, will be the nerve centre for all Games results and venue infrastructure operations. The design concept of the interiors of this uniquely shaped building showcases India of the 21st century, an amalgamation of tradition and technological advancement.
