Traffic Police is working on a Better plan for CWG

CM Sheila Dikshit today said police is working out a plan for better traffic circulation during the Commonwealth Games, noting that smooth transportation of sportspersons to venues will be the most important aspect.

"A traffic plan is being worked out by police. Delhi has the advantage of being round, so there are a lot of alternative routes available," she told reporters on the sidelines of a symposium on public transport here.

"Transporting athletes to their venue or stadia will be the most important aspect," Dikshit said.

Transport Commissioner R K Verma said the transport system is being improved gradually. "Before the Games, we will run 10,000 buses, there will be more Delhi Metro lines and we hope more people will shift from cars to public transport."

He said the focus will be on effective use of existing space and potential.
